ASTRONOMINE Project Partners Meet in Cascais for Final Transnational Project Meeting

On October 2-3, the ASTRONOMINE project partners gathered in Portugal, for the final Transnational Project Meeting, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration that started on November of 2022. Hosted in the scenic coastal town of Cascais, the meeting brought together partners from Ireland, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal to reflect on the progress made and to outline the next steps as the project nears its conclusion.

Throughout the sessions, the project team presented key results, including the successful launch of the ASTRONOMINE Minecraft Education World, which introduces players to various scientific concepts, such as star formation, renewable energy, and the solar system. Discussions revolved around the impact of these initiatives on educational practices and how the project has contributed to promoting STEAM education in an engaging and accessible manner.

As part of its concluding phase, the ASTRONOMINE project will conduct a series of multiplier events aimed at teachers and students to test and experience the ASTRONOMINE Minecraft Worlds. These events will provide hands-on opportunities for participants to explore the educational Minecraft environments, learn about astronomy, and engage with the project’s innovative approach to STEM education.

The final report, which is now being prepared, will summarize the project’s achievements, highlight best practices, and provide recommendations for future educational initiatives that leverage digital tools for learning.

As the ASTRONOMINE project concludes, the partners remain committed to continuing their work in promoting innovative educational experiences that inspire curiosity and foster learning through interactive platforms. The final report is set to be completed in the coming weeks, bringing this fun and innovative project to a successful close.
